Foxwoods Resort and Casino is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. The casino started in 1985 as a high stakes bing parlor. As casino gambling became more popular, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal nation constucted a casino, and opened their doors in 1992. Upon opening, Foxwoods enjoyed a gambling monopoly. This lasted until the Mohegan Sun opened in 1996.

Hotel and Restaurants

Foxwoods is one of the largest casino resorts in the United States. Currently there are five hotels: Two Trees Inn, The Great Cedar Hotel, The Grand Pequot Tower, The Fox Tower, and The Villas at Foxwoods. Among the five hotels, there are over 2200 rooms available. Restaurants abound at Foxwoods, catering to all types of diners. They offer upscale dining, quick-serve eats, and everything in-beteen, including the astonishing Festival Buffet.

For their patrons who like to shop, Foxwoods offers Tanger Outlet Stores. Located on-property, you do not even have to leave the premesis to enjoy and an exhilariting shopping experience. Stores include:
